01 Data controller

The AxonChess development team ("AxonChess", "we", "us") is the controller responsible for the personal data collected through this website. You can contact us at any time at privacy@axonchess.com.

02 Data we collect

We collect two types of data: (a) browsing and usage data collected automatically through Google Analytics (IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, time on page, and traffic source); and (b) data you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, email address, and playing level, when you register as a beta tester once that process is available.

03 Purpose of processing

We use this data to: understand how the site is used and improve the experience; manage the beta tester selection process; and send you communications related to the AxonChess launch, provided you have requested or agreed to receive them.

04 Legal basis

We process your data based on your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) for analytics cookies and communications, and on our legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) in improving the service and preventing misuse of the site.

05 Cookies and Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to measure traffic and browsing behavior through first- and third-party cookies. You can block or delete these cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics by installing the official opt-out add-on available on Google's site.

06 Data retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as required by law. Data from beta testers who are not selected is deleted once the selection process ends, unless you authorize us to keep it for future rounds.

07 Recipients and international transfers

We share data with Google LLC as our Google Analytics provider, which may process data outside the European Economic Area. These transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or other safeguards recognized under the GDPR. We do not sell or trade your data to third parties for commercial purposes.

08 Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. You can exercise these rights by writing to privacy@axonchess.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es) if you believe our processing does not comply with applicable law.

09 Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or applicable law. The date of the last update appears at the top of this document. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
